(i) Applying for a Working Holiday Visa to Germany

Age Requirement
Aged between 18 and 30 (when applying you must be at least 18 and under 30 years of age)

Other Eligibility Requirements
Have an Australian passport, which is valid for at least three months after the expiry of the visa.
Return airline ticket.
Evidence of access to approx $A5,000 (see below).
Proof of health insurance cover valid in Germany for the duration of your stay.

Validity / Timing
Under the working holiday programme visa holders will be able to stay in Germany for up to 12 months. The visa must be validated within 3 months of receiving it - please clarify with the Consulate.

Proof of Funds
Proof of sufficient funds (a monthly minimum of A$ 400.00 ) for the complete length of the stay, for example current bank statement or sponsorship declaration with proof of income of sponsor.

Quotas
No quota.

Employment Issues
Visa holders will be allowed to work for a total of 90 days. During those 90 days employment can be taken up with different employers of the visa holder’s choice.

Entry & Re-entry
There are no known entry and re-entry restrictions.

Fees Payable
Visas are issued free of charge. A AUD$5 fee for administrative expenses applies (bank cheque, postal money order or cash)

General Comments
Processing takes approx. 2 weeks from the time of submitting completed application including all required documents. You can not apply outside Australia and you can participate in the program only once.
